Voltena reads the status of your car so that it charges at the right time. It keeps only what serves that purpose, sells nothing, shows no advertising and does not track you from one app to another.
Who processes your data
Ayoub Laarobi, sole trader, publisher of Voltena, 200 rue de Séverac, 30340 Salindres, France (RCS Nîmes 891 296 089), data controller. For any question or request: [email protected].
What we process, and why
- Your account: email address and internal identifier, to sign you in and to write to you about the service.
- Access to your car: the sign-in tokens issued by your manufacturer and the device identity created at activation. Your manufacturer password is never stored: it is used only at the moment you sign in.
- Vehicle data: vehicle identification number (VIN), model, battery level, range, charging status, mileage and last known position. They are used to decide when to start and stop charging, and to show them to you.
- Your settings and charge history: charge limit, off-peak time slots, electricity tariff and price, charging sessions with the calculated energy and cost.
- Notifications: the token of your phone or browser, to let you know when a charge starts or ends.
- The subscription: its plan, the store it was bought from and its expiry date. The payment itself goes through Apple, Google or Stripe; we never see your bank details.
- How you heard about Voltena, if you answer the question asked at sign-up, and the opening of the app's guides, to know which ones are useful.
- Use of the app: the screens opened, taps and their sequence, recorded by Microsoft Clarity and linked to your internal identifier, to identify what gets in the way and improve it. The content of input fields is masked, and nothing is recorded on the PIN code screen or on the map. Neither your email address nor the car's identification number is transmitted.
Your phone's location, if you allow it, is used only to show the distance to your car on the map. It stays on your phone and is not sent to us.
On what basis
Performance of the service you requested (article 6(1)(b) GDPR) for all of the above, our legitimate interest in improving the app (article 6(1)(f)) for recording its use, to which you can object by writing to us, and your consent for notifications and the phone's location, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings.
Where it is hosted, and who has access
On a server located in the European Union (Hetzner). No data is sold or passed on. Only the providers needed for the service receive part of it:
- Stellantis, which supplies the car's data and receives the charging commands;
- Apple, Google and Expo, to deliver notifications;
- Apple, Google and Stripe, for payments and subscription validation;
- Brevo, for sending emails;
- Microsoft (Clarity), for recording the use of the app;
- Cloudflare, through which exchanges between the app and the server pass, which hosts this website and routes the emails you send us.
Some of them are established outside the European Union; transfers are then governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. The app contains no advertising tools, and the recording of its use is not used for any targeting.
How long
As long as your account exists. When it is deleted, the data linked to it is erased, except what the law requires us to keep. Daily backups are erased after fourteen days.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings › Delete my account. Erasure is immediate and permanent. A subscription taken out in the App Store or Google Play is cancelled separately, in the store settings.
Your rights
You can access your data, have it corrected, obtain a copy of it, object to its processing or request its erasure by writing to [email protected] from your account's email address. We reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority, cnil.fr).
Children
Voltena is intended for holders of a manufacturer account, and therefore for adults. It does not knowingly collect data about minors.
Changes
If this page changes on a significant point, you will be notified in the app or by email before the change applies.
